Great Big Nature Boost | Severn Trent Waters
Severn Trent Waters launches its biggest ever project aiming to give nature a boost across their operating region. They commit to reviving 12,000 acres of land in the Severn Trent region by 2027. They will also be helping to care for over 2,000km of rivers. The project will include:
- Planting over 1.3m trees
- Creating wildflower meadows
- Restoring moorland
- Restoring bog and peatland
They will be running free family-friendly ‘Great Big Nature Boosting’ activity days at their three visitor sites:
- Carsington Water
Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October
10am – 4pm
- Tittesworth Water
Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October
10am – 4pm
- Draycote Water
Saturday 24th and Saturday 25th October
10am – 4pm
These events are outside. All activities will be in line with Government guidance.
They will also be launching a new grant scheme next year to help people run their own nature project. They want to hear about your great ideas or projects that will enhance or improve nature in the Severn Trent region. You could get the financial support you need to make it happen! It will be open to schools, business, charities, community groups and more.
