‘Wheely Green' Solar Power Trailer

Transition Belper Energy Group, with the help of Transition Network Bounce funding, have recently completed its ‘Wheely Green' Solar Power Trailer. The Trailer aims to provide a totally mobile off-grid power source for outdoor events.

The trailer had its first outing on 12th September at the Transition Belper’s Eco Market - it powered a sound stage all day! Although it was cloudy all day, the trailer has battery storage, so they benefited from the previous Friday's sunshine.

The performance is still being evaluated but the unit should be able to deliver up to 3 kWh from the batteries plus whatever the 1 kW of solar panels can deliver during daylight (up to about 4 kWh/day).  Peak power output is just under 3 kW.

Originally designed for their Belper goes Green Festival, they are keen to open its benefits to other local community groups. If interested, please email Tony Cooper: jandtcooper@aol.com
