Derbyshire Councillors Votes to Oppose Shale Gas Plans at Marsh Lane

On 5th February Derbyshire councillors voted to oppose an application for shale gas exploration at a public enquiry. The application was the first concerning shale gas to come before the council and concerned a site at Bramleymoor Lane in the village of Marsh Lane. The meeting took place following a refusal by INEOS, the company who submitted the application, to allow the council more time to decide on the application following. The decision will now determine the council’s stand at a public enquiry into the shceme in June. It was the fourth time in a fortnight that a council in England had opposed onshore gas plans. https://tinyurl.com/y8rj6cey
