The government has announced that the Green Homes Grant (GHG) will be extended by one year. You now have until the end of March 2022 to apply for a voucher. This could be good news for people struggling to find local Trustmark installers to complete works within the original short timescales.
GHG is a new government voucher scheme in England, worth about £2 billion, to help households install energy efficiency measures. Vouchers up to £5,000 are available to owner-occupiers and landlords. They are required to make a minimum contribution of 33% of the cost of upgrades.
Low - income owner-occupiers can apply for vouchers of up to £10,000 with no household contribution required. Funding (£500 million of the £2 billion) will also be available to Local Authorities in England to support the upgrade of homes for low-income households in their areas.
