This Saturday (16th October) is International Repair Day which celebrates the power of community repair, local repair shops, and more.

Across the country, more than 200 groups are already offering repairs to their local community, and more are forming every month. Locally, Transition Buxton’s Repair Café and Transition Chesterfield’s Repair Café have reopened regular in-person sessions.

new briefing, published by The Restart Project, shows that Buxton Repair Café is part of a growing tide of repair groups showing the benefits of repair for our economy, planet and communities.

The briefing :

  • The UK is the world’s second biggest producer of electronic waste per capita.

  • Repair, reuse and remaking could create 450,000 green jobs across the country.
