TerraCycle: From Crisp Packets to a Garden to Help Young PeopleĀ

With the help of thousands of recycled crisp packets, a new garden, Wooden Spoon Allotment, has been created to support young people with mental health problems in Leicester. It provides a quiet place to connect with the environment, and offers a range of activities for 13 to 25 year-olds to rebuild their confidence, self-esteem, and skills in a safe environment.

The garden includes a ping pong table, four planters, four seedling tables, a picnic table, two benches and four bird nesting boxes. These items were made by TerraCycle from recycling collected across the UK, including used packing for nuts, popcorn, crisps and pretzels from KP Snacks.

The partnership with TerraCycle forms part of KP’s pacKPromise – a three-step plan to reduce the company’s packaging impact.
