Virtual Tour of a Low Carbon Self-Build

Date:
Thu, 06/08/2020

Thursday 6th August, 6pm - 7.30pm
Organised by Centre of Sustainable Energy (CSE)
FREE

This is the third event in CSE’s ‘Bristol Green Doors Retrofit Stories,’ which is a series of virtual tours of properties that have been transformed to be more energy efficient.

Here, you will virtually explore the thermally efficient, airtight, timber frame home that Jim built when he couldn't find an older property to retrofit. The house is fitted with measures and features such as:

  • Airtight with Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery (MVHR)
  • Lightweight steel roof covering
  • Wet downstairs underfloor heating with conventional radiators upstairs
  • Thermal mass and acoustic isolation to first floor
  • Solar powered electric vehicle charging

You can read Jim’s case study for full details of the measures installed.

There will be plenty of opportunity throughout to ask Jim questions.
