Local Communtiy Group Sets Up Food Co-operative

Members of Transition Matlock have set up a not-for-profit local food co-operative. The idea developed out of research by the group into how to create a sustainable local food system.

The co-op, DE4 Food (named after the postcode area), delivers an ever-expanding range of local artisan food and drinks to customer’s doors, or you can pick up orders from Tansley. It costs £1 to become a member which is payable with your first food order and once a member you can have a say in how the co-op runs. Most products are grown or produced within 15 miles of the D4 postcode.
