Eco Open Homes

‘It was really useful to see a house where the owners had the confidence to make these improvements.’ - Visitor, 2014

'We had a very engaged group - with lots of relevant questions.' - Householder, 2015

During May 2015 more than 200 people visited 10 homes and buildings across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to get inspired by their eco features. They were able to see eco features in situ and have a chat with the people who live in the homes about what it's like to live there and their honest experiences of installing energy efficiency measures and renewables. We had homes to suit every budget and a range of eco friendly measures on display, from solid wall insulation and solar panels to vegetable gardens, draughtproofing measures and compost toilets.

This was our third annual event. Over the years more than 600 people have visited a home.

We don't currently have any more Open Home events planned. To be kept up-to-date about our other work please sign up to our monthly newsletter here.

If you are interested in organising your own event then please feel free to use the resources on our website. If your event is in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire we can list your event details on this website and include them in our monthly newsletter. Please email us.
