Derbyshire Eco Centre
Derbyshire Eco Centre’s has been constructed using sustainable methods, materials and technologies including local stone, a living green roof, rainwater harvesting, air

It supports Derbyshire County Council’s work to address climate change issues. It promotes creativity through the arts, and teaches skills to help conserve the natural world and to live healthy lifestyles. It is an all–weather facility to deliver heritage building skills, sustainable technologies, rural crafts, arts, environment and energy saving courses. The centre has been designed and built to gain an 'excellent' standard from the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Measure. A second phase is planned to provide further sustainable technologies with the aim of making the site self sufficient in energy.
The building is staffed Monday to Friday: 9:30am-4:30pm and Saturday & Sunday: 9am-4pm. There is no need to book a visit in advance unless you want to be absolutely certain someone will be able to show you round. Depending on staff availability someone will usually be able to show you round for 15-20 minutes during the wee

If you would like a more in-depth group tour and talk lasting 90 minutes please contact the centre to organise a booking. There is a charge of £50 for this service.
